Playful Learning Zone

25 March, 2023 @ 10:00 am

Did you know that even Cambridge academics find time to play, and that playing helps us learn more about children’s development? PEDAL would like to invite you to our Playful Learning Zone to explore with your family the different ways we research children, play, and education.

Why do we ask children to touch their toes when we say ‘touch your head’? What can a video of you reading a book with your child tell us about parental sensitivity? What can we measure by giving a child and a parent a toy tea set or some plastic blocks? These are just some of the fascinating questions that we hope to answer when you come along to our event.

Run as part of the official Cambridge Festival programme, the Playful Learning Zone has been a popular outreach event PEDAL has run since 2015. You don’t need to register, just turn up with your child aged 0-10! Please note that you will need to stay with your children all throughout the event, and that there is no café on site. We unfortunately also do not have parking on our site.

When: Saturday 25th March, 10am-1pm

Where: Faculty of Education, 184 Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 8PQ
