PEDAL Conference 2026

11 June, 2026 @ 8:45 am

Let’s celebrate research and practice in early years!

The PEDAL 2026 Conference is a one-day event that brings together researchers, policy makers and practitioners to share, learn and consider how best to put ideas into practice.

It provides an opportunity to engage with and learn from PEDAL researchers as well as guest speakers, including Mona Sakr, Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education at Middlesex University, London and Aida Cable, CEO of Thrive at Five.

There will be workshops, presentations and a marketplace of ideas.

Tickets are priced at £75 – which includes lunch at Homerton College as well as refreshments.

Registration and ticket sales will open in the coming days.

Registration will take place in the main foyer of the Mary Allan Building.

Tickets cost £75 per attendee and that price includes lunch at Homerton College as well as refreshments.

If you are unable to pay the fee but would like to attend, please contact us via email at pedal@educ.cam.ac.uk.

The PEDAL Conference 2026 has been planned with clinicians, commissioners, educators, policy makers, practitioners, researchers and service managers in mind, but is open to anyone who feels they would benefit from it.

Homerton College is a 15-minute walk from Cambridge railway station.

There are direct buses from the railway station to Hills Road as well as direct buses from other parts of Cambridge and its surrounds that stop close to the site – further detail on Cambridge buses can be found here.

Further information on buses and a map of the Faculty of Education site and its surrounds can be found on the Faculty of Education ‘How to Reach Us’ page.

Unfortunately, we can only offer on-site parking to those with accessibility requirements. Individuals attending the event with access needs can request parking by contacting pedal@educ.cam.ac.uk.

There may be parking spaces on nearby residential streets, such as Cavendish Avenue, Hills Avenue and Glebe Road – but we cannot guarantee that on the day there will be availability. The closest paid car park is Cambridge Leisure.

We strive to make our events as inclusive as possible. The event takes place across two to three large rooms in the Mary Allan Building; all of those rooms are on the ground floor and they are all wheelchair accessible. Lunch takes place at Homerton College, which is accessed across the College grounds, and is also wheelchair accessible.

The following are available.

  • On-site parking for those with accessibility requirements
  • Accessible toilets
  • Prayer room
  • Quiet space
  • Service dog friendly

If you have additional accessibility requirements or any further questions please contact us via email at pedal@educ.cam.ac.uk.

There are many great hotels in Cambridge, but over the summer the city tends to get quite busy so we recommend booking early. The Ibis Cambridge Central Station is conveniently located next to Cambridge railway station, which is only a 15 minute walk from the Faculty of Education.

There is also a Travelodge only five minutes away from the Faculty. For further information about other Travelodge hotels in the area, please click here.

The Conference 2026 is an in-person event only.
Some content from the day may be recorded and made available on our YouTube channel at a later date.
