Tom Rance

Tom is a paediatrician in the UK’s National Health Service and a PhD student at both PEDAL and the School of Clinical Medicine. He is supervised at PEDAL by Professor Paul Ramchandani.

His doctoral research is funded by an NIHR Doctoral Fellowship and focusses on investigating the association between outdoor risky/adventurous play and physical injury.

He has additional research and policy interests focussing on the broader role of play in healthcare and how play can help facilitate the best start in life for children.
