Ellie Braithwaite

Ellie is a Research Associate in the PEDAL team, working with Professor Paul Ramchandani, Dr Christine O’Farrelly and Eloise Stevens on a project to scale a digital book sharing intervention (the Playtime with Books project). This works involves mapping and understanding the policy landscape to establish where the intervention might best fit, and developing and adapting the book sharing programme to suit the needs of services and families in these areas.

Her PhD work focussed on developing tools and expertise for including a more diverse range of toddlers in developmental cognitive neuroscience research, using a range of methods including brain imaging, app development and focus groups. Her research work is largely motivated by a desire to help reduce inequalities in children’s development and enable all children to thrive, and she is passionate about helping underserved perspectives to be heard and understood.
