Alejandra is a third-year PhD student researching play in contexts of displacement in Latin America. Supervised by Professor Sara Baker and funded by a Gates Cambridge scholarship, her work centres children’s creativity and resourcefulness in the midst of adversity and protracted crises. Through a childist approach, her research uses creative and arts-based methods with children to understand their experiences of migration and play as knowledgeable and agentic subjects.
